Enjoy an adventure on Mida Creek in Watamu, exploring the mangroves on single or double kayaks with experienced guides.
You will be taken to our favourite places for walks, swims and picnics.
Our daily sunset trip runs from 3.00 pm to just after dark and you end by watching the sun set over the water with a nice drink and snack, and then paddle home just before dark.

Kayak Mida Creek Watamu

Our Trips have been selected by the Kenya Tourism Board as Magical Kenya Signature Experiences - certified as among Kenya’s most unique experiences.

 

The trips are run at the level of your fitness and ability.  Absolutely no Kayak experience is necessary – paddlers with experience can choose a more challenging trip.

The trip is done on with an emphasis on safety.  The trip will last approximately 3 -3 1/2 hours and, depending on the tides, the winds and the trip you want, might include:

  • Drop-off at the starting point at Mida Creek

  • Briefing for the Kayak trip, paddles and life jackets and guiding from our great local guides

  • Exploring the smaller channels of Mida and walks and swims in our favourite places

  • Bird watching, magical mangrove walks,  stopping for a picnic or swim

  • Enjoying the sunset, at the right time of month – moonrise and Kayak under the full moon

  • Drinks and snacks,  transport back to Treehouse

Some of our trips are in the ocean where you might Kayak for a coffee at sunrise, explore the Coral Gardens, or Kayak to Watamu Village for what some consider the best ice cream in Kenya!

All ages / fitness levels welcome. No Kayak experience necessary confidence in water is good.

 

What is included?

  • 3 nights at Treehouse on half board

  • Treehouse delicious and nutritious three course breakfast and either lunch or dinner each day

  • One adventure activity

  • One yoga class

  • One one-hour massage

  • Daily early morning drinks and sundowner drinks and snacks

  • Water, teas, throughout the day and juice/coconut water with meals

  • Walks

What is not included?

  • Transfers to and from Malindi or Mombasa Airports. Treehouse can arrange the transfers and guests pay the taxis directly .

  • Alcohol is not included as Treehouse does not sell alcohol, but guests are welcome to keep their own in the guest fridge and consume without charge

  • Extra yoga, massage, meals and activities not included in the package

Pricing

Pricing is Per Adult, based on the number of adults in your group.

The trip lasts 3 - 3 1/2 hours and costs

  • 9000/- for one adult

  • 8000/- per adult for 2 adults

  • 7000/- per adult for 3-5 adults

  • 6500/- per adult for more than 5 adults

All prices in Kenyan Shillings inclusive of VAT and all taxes.   KWS park fees are additional and paid directly to KWS. Teens pay 75% and Children pay 50% of the adult price.

It is necessary to pay in advance and fill out the booking sheets to reserve a place.
