Mida Creek is one of the richest jewels in the Watamu area. A unique way to explore Mida is on a guided kayak trip. It offers a privileged perspective of the mangrove channel and wildlife whilst you peacefully paddle and explore unspoiled nature. You get a good workout too – our you can paddle in a double and share the work!

We use top quality single or double kayaks.. The trips last approximately 3 -  3 1/2 hours.

This trip was selected in 2021 by the Kenya Tourism Board as one of the 29 ‘Magical Kenya Signature Experiences’ - the most unique experiences in Kenya

Depending on tides and winds, a trip might include:

  • Transport from Treehouse to starting point and back

  • Briefing where the kayaks, paddles and life jackets are explained

  • Kayaking on the main Mida Creek and exploring smaller channels

  • Magical walking in the mangroves

  • Optional bird watching / swimming / picnic / watching the sunset

  • Snorkel trip at Coral Garden, or a drift snorkel in Mida

  • Refreshments and snacks at the end of the trip

  • If the timing is right - a moonrise observation and kayaking under the full moon.

All ages / fitness levels welcome. No Kayak experience necessary confidence in water is good.

 
 
 

What is included?

  • Kayaks, paddles, lifejackets, juice and snacks and hot drinks on the evening trips

  • Experienced guides

  • All transport and towels at the end

What is not included?

  • KWS park tickets – from 1st January 2024 KWS may charge for entry to Marine Park/Reserve

  • If we end at Crab Shack and if guests stay on, then dinner/drinks/transport not included

Cancellation Policy: 

Cancellation is possible if made 48 hours or more in advance for credit or refund less 10% admin fee.  Cancellations made within 48 hours of trip start are not refundable or transferable. Between 20 Dec and 6 Jan, cancellations or changes need to be done 72 hour in advance of trip.  Trips are in water and occur regardless of weather.

Pricing

Pricing is Per Adult, based on the number of adults in your group.

The trip lasts 3 - 3 1/2 hours and costs

  • 9000/- for one adult

  • 8000/- per adult for 2 adults

  • 7000/- per adult for 3-5 adults

  • 6500/- per adult for more than 5 adults

All prices in Kenyan Shillings inclusive of VAT and all taxes.   KWS park fees are additional and paid directly to KWS. Teens pay 75% and Children pay 50% of the adult price.

It is necessary to pay in advance and fill out the booking sheets to reserve a place.
